UV-C germicidal flow lamps are one of the most effective methods of safe air disinfection (reduction of viruses, bacteria, molds and fungi). Flow UV-C lamps emit UV-C irradiation (wave length - 253,7 nm). Its germicidal effectiveness means that UV-C can kill every microorganism. That is why UV-C germicidal flow lamps are commonly used in rooms and areas where air purity determines the quality and safety of services and work.

ASEPTOR Basic 236 (ASB 236) disinfects the air in doctors’ offices, cosmetic salons and other rooms up to 90 m3. ASEPTOR Basic 255 (ASB 255) disinfects the air in bigger rooms as classrooms, waiting rooms, halls, open spaces, social rooms and conference rooms in offices.

Ultraviolet radiation and germicidal effect of UV-C
The concept of disinfection by means of UV-C lamps is easy to understand if one looks at the division of ultraviolet radiation presented below. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is classified as electromagnetic radiation, similarly to X-rays, radio waves and visible light. The UV spectrum is divided into three bands:
UV-A radiation naturally reaches the Earth along with the sunlight. It deeply penetrates the dermis due to its long wave. UV-A causes the so-called immediate tan, visible after short time of tanning. The immediate tan lasts only for a few hours.
UV-B radiation is mainly used in medical therapy. It produces provitamin D. UV-B radiation is responsible for creation of the so-called delayed tan that lasts much longer. Exposure to UV-B radiation can result in skin pigmentation and erythemal effect (burned skin).
UV-C radiation has a strong germicidal effect. It causes numerous skin burns (erythemal effect), as well as conjunctivitis. UV-C does not reach the Earth’s surface as it is absorbed by the ozone layer in the atmosphere.
UV-C radiation irreversibly deactivates all viruses (including SARS-CoV-2), bacteria, molds, fungi and every other microorganisms. This effect is scientifically proven by numerous researches.

How UV-C flow germicidal lamps work
Air disinfection by means of UV-C radiation is carried out inside the lamp. ASEPTOR is equipped with silent, high-quality fan responsible for the gentle air flow. Before air is sucked into the disinfection chamber, it is initially filtered out of the dust. The highest level of air disinfection is determined by perfect proportion of two factors. The first one is UV-C radiation intensity inside the ASEPTOR disinfection chamber. The second - the time of flowing air exposure to the UV-C irradiation. The UV-C dose generated this way is lethal for viruses, bacteria, molds and fungi. Air flow disinfection inside ASEPTOR initiates the circulation of the air in the whole room, that is why its quality improves significantly.

Advanced UV-C bulbs working time counter
UV-C bulbs applied in flow germicidal lamp ASEPTOR have precisely determined utility time, which is 9000 working hours. It means that their germicidal effectiveness decreases after this time. The user needs to replace the UV-C bulbs after 9000 h, in order to maintain highest level of air microbial purity. ASEPTOR is a user-friendly device, which can be equipped with an advanced working time counter. It enables comfortable and easy monitoring of UV-C bulbs utility time. There are two ASEPTOR versions available: ASEPTOR with counter (“C” symbol) and ASEPTOR without counter (no extra symbol). If the lamp does not have a counter, user has to estimate the working time (continuous work means that UV-C bulbs replacement has to be carried out after one year).
